Final Logo
Context:
The logo summarises the entire project. My objective while designing the logo was to ensure the viewer understands the elements (painting and Virtual Reality (VR)), and has a brief idea of what they are participating in. I plan to provide enough visual explanation to intrigue them and encourage them to explore more.
Note:
The process of creating the logo involves a few milestones, hence the two types of logo designs. With feedback and self-reflection, sudden modifications were required to make this project more successful. I will illustrate the entire design process in order.
Design process (ideating & developing)
I began with the project name. I decided to explore logo names by brainstorming and getting guidance from ChatGPT. I want to achieve something that rolls off the tongue and is catchy to match the logo's illustrations; if it’s drawn, keep it drawn. I also wanted the word “Art” in the name, as it’s the primary element. I ended up sticking with “ArtsyIntervision” as my final title.
Following this process, I also explored some logo inspiration to give myself a boost. I had difficulty beginning the design aspect from scratch, so Pinterest was seriously helpful.

I then designed a few concept ideas, getting a sense of which approach I thought had potential. I also considered incorporating others' feedback to ensure I avoid bias.

Subsequently, I chose the following designs with stars. However, instead of going straight to development, I also drew some more concept ideas involving features from the chosen ones.
Important Note:
The orange stars represent feedback received at two different stages of the design process. Therefore, I will use heart emojis to differentiate the milestones. Based on feedback, the logo design (with the green heart) was the initially selected design approach. However, after further debriefing, the logo design (with a blue heart) met the specifications and was appropriate for the final idea.

With some thought and feedback, I considered one of the new drawing ideas, the logo design with the green heart, due to its simplicity. I then continued with some iterations. I figured not to completely narrow down my ideas in case I could create something with more potential. I also designed the digital version, so that it can be easily determined which is more appropriate.

Change of plans!
I initially considered this idea most suitable because it encompassed both the technological and artistic aspects. However, after following up with the Fablab expert, who guided me through the technology (VR) category, they mentioned that the logo design did not align with the project's overall idea, and that the technology was more engineering-focused rather than VR. After some self-reflection, I had to agree. It checked the simplicity required. However, the two elements were too vague and lacked direct visual communication.
Note:
I also had a gut feeling that something wasn't working with the logo design; I just couldn’t put my finger on it. With their guidance, which I’m super grateful for, I was able to proceed forward with full assurance and certainty. I went back to the concept ideas of my logos. With discussion and brainstorming, the decision was made to go with the logo design with the blue heart.

This time round, I ensured that the logo was visually communicated through the literal elements used in the project. I also wanted to intertwine the typography into the logo. Therefore, I gave myself various composition styles to work with. Subsequently, I had feedback from the FabLab expert and also other students (the stakeholders).

With some reflection and little time left, I decided to go with the design that had the most stars, due to its balance and clear illustration of the project. I completed the logo by digitally designing it in Photoshop.
